Answer by catherine02116 Carrie wore a Cathedral length veil held up with a 40-karat tiara that was a wedding gift from Mike. Her dress was strapless covered in Chantilly lace and silk organza. It was fitted just below the waist and then flared out into a ball gown. Carrie’s bouquet was complete with pink, white, and yellow peonies. Her makeup was airbrushed on to beat the heat. Carrie also chose to wear less makeup than she normally wears to award shows. The color combination was pinks and gold.

The Heisman Trophy Trust is expected to strip former University of Southern California star running back Reggie Bush of college football’s top honor
by the end of September, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Reggie Bush would become the first player in the 75-year history of the award to be stripped of Heisman. The NCAA found major violations in the Trojans’ football program in June and levied serious sanctions against the school.
Two sources close to the Heisman trust said the body’s investigation is coming to a close, and will ultimately concur with the NCAA’s determination that Bush was ineligible during his Heisman-winning season in 2005. Because of that independent conclusion, sources said the trust will relieve Bush of the award and leave the honor for that season vacant. The sources said Bush met with Heisman representatives last month at the New York law offices of Emmet, Marvin & Martin. The sources would not reveal details of that meeting.
Bush, now a standout with the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, could not immediately be reached for comment.
It appears as if the Heisman Trophy Trust is about to strip Reggie Bush of his 2005 trophy.

The Heisman trust has been conducting its own independent inquiry into Bush’s eligibility since the NCAA ruled in June that the USC star had committed multiple violations by accepting cash, gifts and other impermissible benefits while playing for the Trojans. Yahoo! Sports first detailed the extra benefits in September 2006. In its findings, the NCAA retroactively ruled Bush ineligible for part of the 2004 season and all of 2005. The NCAA also ordered the USC program to remove all references to Bush from its sporting venues and promotional materials and vacate his statistics from all games in which he was ineligible.
In July, incoming USC president C.L. Max Nikias announced that the university would be returning its copy of Bush’s Heisman to the trust, stating the Trojans would honor and respect athletes who “did not compromise their athletic program or the opportunities of future USC student-athletes.” New USC athletic director Pat Haden followed up in August, stating during an interview with the Dan Patrick radio show that Bush should also voluntarily return his Heisman.
While others pressed for a swift decision, the trust opted for a patient, meticulous effort. Sources said the trust did its own detailed investigation over the past three months, using a litany of resources and reviewing its information against the NCAA’s findings. The trust also offered Bush a chance to impact the decision.
The process apparently came with considerable debate – in part because of the trust’s quest for due process, but also because of the unique nature of the decision. Never in the history of the award has the trust been forced to retroactively rule on the eligibility of a past winner. That reality, along with the NCAA’s findings, created a tangled knot of deliberation regarding the trust’s place in the role of enforcement. Sources said the prominent issues discussed included accountability, on-field vs. off-field conduct, implications of retroactively stripping an award and possible impact on future athletes and the NCAA.
Two factors outweighed all others, sources said: The Heisman ballot necessitates candidates be in compliance with NCAA bylaws and concern over the Heisman’s reputation in the wake of the NCAA findings against Bush.
The status of USC’s 2004 Bowl Championship Series national title remains to be determined. BCS officials are awaiting the NCAA’s ruling on the Trojans’ appeal of the June finding.

NORTON – Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin scouted all four rounds at the Deutsche Bank Championship to fill the final four slots on the American team.
Pavin will announce his captain’s picks at 10:30 this morning to join Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan, Bubba Watson, Jim Furyk, Steve Stricker, Dustin Johnson, Jeff Overton and Matt Kuchar on the squad.
Team USA will face its European counterparts on Oct. 1 at the Celtic Manor Resort in the City of Newport, Wales.
Six of the leading at-large candidates competed in yesterday’s final round at TPC Boston. The hopefuls included Zach Johnson, who shot 8-under in the opening round, Tiger Woods, rookie Rickie Fowler, Nick Watney, Lucas Glover and four-time Ryder veteran Stewart Cink.
Anthony Kim and Sean O’Hair did not make the Deutsche Bank cut, but have an even chance of winning Pavin’s favor. Woods and Cink enjoy the insiders track, but the other two spots remain at Pavin’s whim.
“I think what you look at is chunks of the year, and if you are trending the correct direction, that’s what is noticeable,” said Cink. “I’ve been trending to better play the last chunk of the year.

Fowler hopes Pavin considers youth and enthusiasm as a contributing factor.
“I’m a young guy but I like to win, especially on this team where I’m playing for my country,” said Fowler.
“To be considered in my rookie season I think is a pretty good accomplishment, and to (have) a legitimate shot to possibly be a pick is a special thing.”

Things went south in a hurry for former PGA champion Shaun Micheel after he made the cut with a 68 on Friday and an even-par 71 on Saturday.
Micheel began Sunday’s third round with seven bogeys and completed the trip at 4-over. He opened yesterday’s final round with three straight bogeys, then added two more on five and seven to make the turn at 41.
Micheel opened the back nine with bogeys on 10, 12 and 13, finishing with a 6-over 77 to finish at 7-over – dead last of the cut field. In his four rounds, Micheel registered at least one bogey on 12 of the 18 holes.

Tiger Woods will make the USA’s Ryder Cup team, according to team captain Corey Pavin.
In the troubled star’s biggest vote of confidence since his return to the game after problems in his private life, Pavin insists the 14-time Major winner is a big part of his plans for Celtic Manor.
Woods is currently seventh in the eight automatic qualification spots, with Pavin picking the final four himself.
“I’m not concerned about whether he’ll make the team on points – it’ll be fantastic, I want him on the team,” said Pavin.
“He’s the number-one player in the world. There’s something wrong with you if you don’t want him on the team.
“I want him to be playing well. He’s finished in the top five in the last two major championships and he’s put himself on the team right now.
“I expect him to go up on that list and improve his position and he’ll make the team no problem.”
Woods doesn’t have the best record at the Ryder Cup – with ten wins, 13 defeats and two halves from five events – and has only been on the winning team once, back in 1999.

Question by P M: Can someone tell me the circumstances of Corey Pavin’s 2-stroke penalty,on 6th hole in PGA Championships?
This happened in the final round. Just have read news accounts,though not too much clarity about his caddie holding a rake on an errant shot,that eventually wound up in the water-hazard,which was not the penalty, and wanted to find out the sequence of events. The penalty,as I understand it, was the rake,since his caddie was holding it,was deemed part of Pavin’s equipment,therefore re-dropping,in the bunker with a 2-stroke penalty. I just want to know,what happened? Did Pavin hit his ball, hitting the rake his caddie was holding? or what?

maybe his caddie touched the sand with the rake. If Pavin was in the bunker, neither he or the caddie can ground a club or rake in the sand.
